I’ve made many mistakes. Found myself in the pits. Felt scared, penniless and naive.
I was furious at all the people who had “lied” to me or left me alone when they could have helped me, but mostly I was furious with myself. I thought I had left victimhood behind long time ago.
Then I started mulling over the word victim. What I wanted was to be a victor. It’s just a tiny shift – 2 letters. The little im – I am – needed to change to or. Or is a choice. Something I have to consciously choose. And so, with no money to my name, I focused on the choices I had in every moment to recognize the Ors in my life – to be happy or sad, fearful or secure, disappointed or expectant. So I choose to be a victor… to see and expect the goodness of God.
Suffering is voluntary – controlled by free will. Every false belief of anger, shame, fear, low self-worth, or low self-esteem is a voluntary belief made for the purpose of receiving more of the same in a variety of forms. These manmade concepts surface from situations, events and experiences fromt he past that live in memory; many from childhood. When past hurts surface in our consciousness, we become consumed with sadness and accept the invitation to identify ourselves as the victim. It is important for us to remember that this form of suffering is voluntary. We need to find a way out of that abyss when the wounded child that lives within us surfaces in consciousness and we feel misery. Remember the law of life supports us and is our source of goodness, compassion and love.
Equally important, activating the tool of forgiveness transmutes all seeming conditions that attempt to seperate us from our true selves. Forgiveness gives us freedom and fuels our choice to live in peace, abundance and well being. It’s our responsibility to choose to be fully engaged in life – in the now of right now – our conscious relationship with the present is the pathway to freedom from all forms of suffering. It gives us clarity to see what we do with all our resource – talents, skills, money – is made sacred by the consciousness in which we use it so we are living in the overflow.
