If we will be quiet and ready enough, we shall find compensation in every disappointment
–Henry David Thoreau
The emergence into human life form is a painful process from which no one escapes.
Evidently pain is an intended part of being human. The way in which life begins is a blueprint for the way life operates at its finest. The initial feeling of pain – in labor – is an indication of a change in course. Something magnificent, which we have called forth, is about to emerge. The painful place is simply a request for our full undivided attention – to be aligned with the creative process, allowing newness to appear.
We do not know the timing and we do not know how. We can’t control how it all takes place. We are simply the hosts, an honorable place to have. We are co-creators with Creative Intelligence. It will guide us through. Humanity is destined to continuously give birth to newness through our dreams and desires.
And in the process, blessings don’t always show up as you might expect, but when we perceive experiences from the lens of gratitude, we are never victims.
We try to avoid discomfort. We want life to feel familiar, whether or not our experience serves our higher good. But the divine is perpetually orchestrating something even more wondrous than the human mind can imagine. Yet if we remain confined in our sameness, how will we evolve? We can look back through our history and know, without question, humankind is intended to evolve.
In life, one should always expect the unexpected without labeling it good or bad. It is simply unforseen and typically has many hidden treasures waiting to unfold. By breathing with the painful shifts in course, we attract the goodness that is our birthright and life becomes the adventure it is meant to be. We then enjoy the little surprises along the way. Inside of painful discomfort lives the birth of our dreams.
